Free ABPM if your reading is high
No needles, no forms
We offer FREE blood pressure checks to a wider range of patients than most people realise.
You do not need a GP referral to book. Just call us or drop in.
If your reading is high in the pharmacy, we can arrange a 24-hour ABPM. You wear a small monitor that takes readings throughout the day and night. It gives a much clearer picture than a single clinic reading, and ABPM is the method recommended by NICE to confirm a diagnosis of hypertension. It gives a much clearer picture than a single clinic reading. This service is also available free of charge for eligible patients.
Call us, book online, or walk in. Most appointments are available within 48 hours. We keep things simple because we know your time matters.
Come in and sit down with one of our trained pharmacy team members. The check itself takes just a few minutes. We will also ask a few brief questions about your medical history and lifestyle.
If your reading is normal, we will tell you and advise when to come back. If it is raised, we will discuss your options clearly. That might mean lifestyle advice, a referral to your GP, or arranging ABPM monitoring.
No needles. No forms to fill in beforehand. No long waits.
You sit down, we place a cuff on your upper arm, and the reading takes about two minutes. We take at least two readings per visit, as blood pressure can vary slightly moment to moment.
We will explain what your numbers mean in plain terms. Systolic over diastolic, what is normal, what warrants monitoring, and what needs action. If you have been told before that your blood pressure is “borderline,” this is a good chance to get a clearer picture.
We are a local pharmacy, not a walk-in clinic chain. You speak to the same pharmacist each time. We know our patients by name.
We also work closely with local GP practices across Peterborough, so if a referral is needed, it happens quickly.

A normal reading is below 120/80 mmHg. A reading of 140/90 mmHg or above on repeated checks is generally classified as high blood pressure by NHS guidelines.
Pharmacists cannot prescribe antihypertensives directly. However, we can refer you to your GP with a written summary of your readings, which often speeds up your diagnosis and treatment.
If your last reading was normal and you have no risk factors, once a year is usually sufficient. If you are already on medication or have borderline readings, every three to six months is more appropriate.
Yes. If you are on treatment and want to check whether your medication is working, or you have recently changed your dose, we can carry out a check and help you understand whether your current readings are within a good range.
