The Medpoint machine is an automated prescription collection unit, installed outside the pharmacy. Once your prescription is dispensed and loaded into the machine, you get a unique PIN. Enter the PIN at the machine, and your medication is released in seconds.
There is no app to download and no account to set up. The process is straightforward by design. It works the same way whether it is 2pm on a Tuesday or 3am on a Saturday.
Long working hours should not mean delayed medication. That is one of the main reasons we introduced the Medpoint machine in the first place.
It is especially useful for patients on regular repeat prescriptions who cannot always get to the pharmacy during staffed hours.
Most standard dispensed prescriptions can be collected via the Medpoint machine. This includes NHS repeat prescriptions, private prescriptions, and branded medications that have been pre-dispensed.
Refrigerated medications, controlled drugs, and items requiring pharmacist consultation or advice must be collected in person during staffed hours to ensure safe handling and proper guidance.
If you are not sure whether your medication qualifies, just call us during opening hours and we will confirm.
Request your repeat prescription as normal, through your GP surgery, the NHS App, or via our pharmacy. Once it is dispensed, we will prepare it for the Medpoint collection.
We will send you a PIN by text message once your prescription is ready and loaded into the machine. Keep this PIN safe. It is your key to the collection point.
Head to the Medpoint machine outside Landsdowne Pharmacy at any time of day or night. Enter your PIN, and your medication is dispensed straight away. That is it.

Yes. The machine operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including bank holidays. Your PIN remains valid for the duration your prescription is stored in the machine.
Prescriptions are typically held in the machine for a set number of days. Contact us to confirm the exact timeframe for your medication.
Yes, you can share your PIN with someone you trust to collect for you. Just remember, the machine will release your medication to anyone who enters it.
Call us during staffed hours and we will check the status of your prescription. PINs can sometimes fail if the item was not loaded correctly or if the message was delayed.
We prefer that you are registered with us for repeat prescriptions, but the machine can be used by any patient whose prescription has been dispensed here. Speak to us about getting set up.
